We scrubbed and recoated about 12,000 sqft of vinyl tile today at a local school as a way to support and thank a couple of wonderful clients. Special thanks to David Pruett for the use of the Advance Rev orbital scrubber and for coming alongside to help our little crew. Also pictured: our intern Cody Cox, who has a bright future ahead of him!
I hadn’t used this particular flat mop system for refinishing a floor, but coverage was easy and fast! We also really appreciated the “orbital” nature of the scrubber, as it functions almost like an orbital sander, vibrating as it completes an orbit, removing much more finish than a typical rotary scrubber, all without the use of chemicals. In terms of cost savings, using this sort of machine and application (known as a “scrub and recoat” process) was way faster and used way fewer materials than a traditional strip and re-finish!
